I joined J. H. White as Office Manager in 2013, after a career in computer science, and most importantly, raising my children. I also work part-time with my church. I’m proud to be part of Jim’s team, and really enjoy what we do.
I grew up in northern Chester County, PA, where I still live. I attended West Chester University, where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. After graduating, I worked as a programmer at an international engineering consulting firm. In addition to providing in-house programming, support, and training, I worked on a multi-million dollar project for the CDC, as well as projects for the FAA and Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority.
My job frequently took me to New York City, which I thought was the most fun place to drive on earth. Most other people just thought I was nuts. I also met a wonderful mechanical engineer named John at that company, married him, and commenced living happily ever after.
After a few years, I’d had enough of big corporate America, and decided to work for a small, local engineering consulting firm instead. There I primarily programmed in-house accounting and billing software, and regretted leaving my last job. I finished out my illustrious career in the computer field as a systems analyst at a Penn State branch campus, where I provided technical support. I also taught continuing education computer classes at night. I loved almost every minute of it, and probably would have worked there forever had my son not come along.
I spent 14 years being a stay-at-home mom to my awesome kids. That’s a decision I’ll never regret, but the computer field is not one that you can leave for 14 years and just pick up where you left off. So, I found myself on a new career track, this time as the Office Manager here at J. H. White. I’d love to say lots of nice things about Jim at this point, but government regulations forbid testimonials, so you’ll have to come see for yourself!
